Nigerian Dwarf and Miniature Silky Fainting Goats

The Miniature Silky Fainting Goat is a meat breed that decided its goal in life was to be a super model. They can grow to be 25 in. tall and usually weigh between 60-100 lb. They are suppose to have long cashmere hair that resembles Yorkshire terriers. Common coat colors include black and white; however, they come in all color combinations. Fainting goats are frequently kept as pets because they are a relatively small breed so they are easy to handle, the myotonia makes them less likely to jump on things or test fences.

The Nigerian Dwarf is a small, docile American breed. It may be horned or polled (naturally hornless). The coat is fine and fairly short, and may be of any color, or multicolored. The average weight is approximately 75 lbs., while maximum height is about 24 in. for males and slightly less for females. Life expectancy is from 8 to 12 years. They are suitable for small scale dairy production. The milk is high in protein, and makes excellent cheese and butter. Because of their small size, they tend to be easier to fence then larger breeds.
