MPFlash is a redesign of the flash module board used to modify the factory ECU. The goal was to create an updated flash module to be a universal board configurable to work for a majority of our ECU's. But we didn't stop there. We packed it full of features - like compatibility with more ECU's, single board production that can be configured during assembly, ability to use more widely available and modern components, assembly fits inside the ECU case, and more!!

Note: The pictures above don't show the pin headers on the assembled modules, as these were taken mid production. Pin headers are included on the assembled modules.

Flash Module Availability

Currently there are very few options for flash modules for our ECU's. The BoostButton flash module boards are available to be ordered from the saved OshPark files. These board files serve only some of our ECU's. This is a do-it-yourself venture for the most part, although there are some hobbyists in the Turbo-Mopar community that have assembled some for others.

BoostButton also had a flashable Four-Play board which allowed stacking 2 to 4 separate bin files. This worked only with SMEC and SBEC..

Universal Compatibility

One PCB board that is configurable during assembly for the specific ECU desired. (Once configured it generally can be used only on that ECU type.)

Flashable Flexibility

MPFlash is a flash module. Once installed in place of the factory chip in your ECU you can repeatedly flash your ecu in just a few seconds. Toss that old chip burner out the window and upgrade to flashable! Once you try flashing you won't go back to chip burning.

No more removing your ecu to replace chips! No more chip burning! No more issues with chip burners! Use your MPSciLink or MPTune to reflash without removing your ecu or chips.

In some ECUs that have been previously socketed for removable chips, it may be possible to still upgrade to flashable. For SBEC/SBECII ECUs that are already socketed may also be upgraded to MPFlash (with additional pin socket needed for the 4 extra pins). For SMEC ECUs it requires just a bit of extra work for the RW, Prg, A15 jumpers, and to add Pin #11 bootpower on the 60-way.

Multi-Bin Calibrations

A really cool feature of the new universal flash module is the ability to configure for Multi-Bin Calibrations! This means the user can load up to 4 binary calibrations into the module at one time. This requires additional hardware of a 4 position switch, some simple circuitry, and a cable run to the ECU to select the active calibration.

You can switch to any one of four tunes by simply turning off the ignition, turning the switch to the desired tune, and then restarting the engine. It is that simple! You can have a high mileage tune for those road trips, a performance tune for when you feel you may need a bit more “go”, a high "low end torque" tune for city driving and a final tune could be a special tune for race fuel at the track. The choice is entirely yours. Plus you can change the tune with MPTune or MPScandroid/MPSciLink anytime.

Note: The calibration can not be changed on-the-fly. The ECU should be powered off in order to safely switch the active tune. (However initial tests of changing bins while running look favorable! This would be a huge benefit, but requires further testing and validating. Also may have certain restrictions between the available calibrations. We will share more information soon!)

Fully Assembled

MPFlash module board comes fully assembled for the ECU of your choice. When you order, select the ECU that you will be installing the module into. Also be sure to answer the car/ECU year. You can rest assured the universal flash board will be configured for that installation. Opting for the Multi-Play feature will include the board mounted wire pigtail with connector for the switch wire harness. A MultiPlayselector switch, and wire harness will be available seperately.

MPSciLink Compatibility

The MPFlash is designed to be fully compatible with the complete line of MPSuite ECU tuning hardware & software products. It works with the MPSciLink device and both the MPScandroid app or MPTune to reflash your MPFlash modified ECU.

Flash using MPTune

Reflash with a laptop using MPTune, a Windows based tuning software, and an FTDI cable connected to the SCI connector.

Flash using MPSciLink

Reflash using MPSciLink, the standalone device that allows a direct connection to your ecu through the stock SCI connector. Any calibration file loaded/saved onto the device’s SD card can be flashed directly from MPSciLink.

Flash using MPScandroid

Reflash with your phone or tablet using MPScandroid, an Android app that communicates via Bluetooth to the MPSciLink device.
