Group Thesis

Our group identified professor Dr. Louis D. Mitchell as a figure that played a tremendous role in the black history of the University of Scranton. Dr. Mitchell’s career at the University of Scranton exemplifies the impact and importance of black professorship in the 20th century.  This argument is the heart of our research pertaining to Mitchell’s musical career, career at Scranton, life outside of teaching, and literary works.
