INTRODUCTION

Environment & Energy Systems Engineering is defined as being concerned with the development of methods and computer-based tools for an integrated approach to all aspects of modeling, simulation, design, operation, control and management for environment & energy processes including water/wastewater treatment, bioremediation, sustainable bioenergy production, and decommissioning and decontamination. This is a highly interdisciplinary area where complementary knowledge from different disciplines is put together from environmental/chemical/material engineering to applied mathematics and basic sciences (physics, chemistry, microbiology).

Our Environment & Energy Systems Engineering Laboratory (ESEL) at Kyungpook National University has been working on sustainable material and process development, process modeling and identification, optimization and control at both laboratory and industrial scales. In recent years, much attention has been given to novel materials for environmental applications, photocatalytic degradation of emerging micropollutants, microbial fuel cells, advanced radioactive waste treatment, etc.

If you have any questions, suggestions and/or comments, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are very eager to discuss with scientists and engineers from all over the world regarding any subjects as long as related to science and technology and eventually for our sustainable environment.
