Below are some summer "virtual" opportunities to start with. This list is not an endorsement. Some are free, some are not. I will update this page as I receive information. Please be patient and be mindful that all materials/information are fluid and could be updated at any moment.

Junior Regional Orchestra (Auditions 9/26/20)

NCVRO JRO Audition Music
Junior Regional Orchestra is open to students in grades 7-9. Ensemble membership is determined by audition in September, and the orchestra performs one concert in November. Ninth graders must choose to audition for either Junior or Senior Regional Orchestra. They may not audition for both. The orchestra is led by a different guest conductor each year in a variety of repertoire.

AUDITION MATERIAL
JUNIOR REGIONAL (Grades 7-9) String Audition consists of the following:
1. Scales 2. Prepared Piece 3. Sight-Reading
2-OCTAVE SCALES
2 Octave g melodic minor (Bass 1 Octave) *note new MELODIC scale requirement
Tempo: Quarter Note = 96
Separate bowings
Top note should be repeated upon descending
Scales must be MEMORIZED
PREPARED PIECE

Music can be used in the audition
All violins will prepare the Violin 1 part
For audition requirements and music, please ask your music director.
SIGHT-READING
There will be a sight-reading component to this audition.
