Every school year, the South Carolina Association of School Librarians (SCASL) presents their nominations for different categories in children's and young adult literature. In elementary school, we focus on the Children's Book Awards and Picture Book Awards in the elementary grades and Junior Book Awards in the middle grades. The students and I will read as many books as time allows, and they will vote for their favorites later in the school year. We always get excited to see who wins! Find them at the library to read!
