Donor Guide

Normally we live in a consumer economy. During this pandemic, we live in a compassion economy. How do we decide who needs help the most when everybody is at at risk, everybody is hurting, and we don't know how this is going to play out? Facing such uncertainty, now more than ever, we need to be smart with our money and how we interact with the world. We founded Friends and Family Meal to take care of our own community using the tools of our community. Our approach allows us to simultaneously support food insecure workers and direct funds to ailing local farms.

Our organization is 100% volunteer driven. One $10 donation goes directly to getting a bag of nutrient rich, calorie-dense bag of groceries to the people that normally feed us all.

What our local farmers have available also shifts from week to week. However, to be cost effective, calorie rich, and consistent, we source rice and beans through conventional suppliers.
