Mrs. Hutchison's Class
7th Grade ELA
Meet the Teacher
Welcome to 7th Grade ELA! My name is Mrs. Hutchison and I've been teaching at the Middle School for two years. Before I started teaching, I worked as the Assistant Director & Tri-County School Coordinator for the Hocking College TRIO Talent Search program, a federal program that helps first generation/low income students with the college planning process.
I graduated from Jackson High School in 2009, and attended Ohio University, first from 2009-2013 to complete an undergraduate degree in Integrated Language Arts Education, and again from 2013-2015 to complete two Master's programs in Cultural Studies in Education & Reading Education. I worked during that time as a Graduate Advisor for Ohio University Upward Bound, a federal TRIO program that served first generation/low income students.
I love reading and find so much joy in helping students find books they love. I'm a data nerd, and I love studying the intricacies of the rules we use when we write and when we speak. I'm especially a fan of studying and writing about poetry with my students. I can't wait to share some of these passions with you this school year.
We're going to have a lot of fun this year, so get ready to learn!
See you in class!
