Reading Language Arts - 45 Minutes Daily

(25 minutes) Reading

Watch a children’s tv show from a local station, such as PBS. What was the story about? Who were the major and minor characters and how did they interact with each other? What was the most exciting part of the show and how was it resolved or how did it end? Tell your parent, guardian, or friend about the show in a way that makes sense to them, even though they did not see it.

Draw a picture of your most important idea from the tv show and tape it up for someone else to see. Ask them to give you feedback from your explanation of the show as well as your drawing.

(15 minutes)

Read your classroom or library book for at least 15 minutes. As you read, make notes of what connections you can make to yourself, other books or texts, and society.

You can read a text in your HMH Into Reading consumable book that your teacher sent home with you. As you read, make notes of what connections you can make to yourself, other books or texts, and society.
