Wu/Hao Style Taiji Quan

Hao Taiji Quan: Perfection - One Day at a Time

I have been studying and practicing martial arts since 1981. I started by learning Karate, and then I learned an external Kung Fu style called “Wai Kung Pai.” Martial arts became the focus of my teen years, and I always knew that martial arts would be a life-long passion. I started out with “hard” martial arts, eventually switching to “soft” martial arts. I teach a relatively rare family style of Tai Chi Chuan. The style is very compact, powerful, and effective; it is referred to as the Classic Wu/Hao style. I started learning this form from Dr. Robert Thoor on Sept. 1, 1997. I had tried out many different schools and instructors, but it was only when I met Robert that felt I had found someone who really knew what Tai Chi Chuan was really about. He had spent an intensive year learning the art from Wang Mu Yin--the adopted son of Grandmaster Hao Shao Ru. Wang was the legendary master’s last disciple. He lived with the master for the last five years of his life, and practiced diligently everyday. Wang is currently the standard bearer of the next generation of Wu/Hao style Tai Chi Chuan. Before he passed away in 1983, Hao Shao Ru officially adopted Wang Mu Yin and gave him his new Tai Chi Chuan name: Hao Yin Ru.

Robert made me his top disciple in 2000, along with Enrique Roitman. We both assisted Robert with teaching very large Wu/Hao classes in Sweden until my departure to Hawaii in 2002. I teach the Wu/Hao style with the approval of Dr. Robert Thoor in Honolulu, Hawaii. I am also in touch with Master Wang Mu Yin and hope to study with him in Shanghai in the near future.
