Practical Details

As described in the Venue tab, the closest international airport is in Düsseldorf (DUS). From there you can easily reach Bochum with the RE1 or RE6 regional trains, purchasing ticket class D.
A number of ICE trains also reach the city. In particular, there are frequent ICE trains to and from Frankfurt International Airport (FRA); combining a plane to Frankfurt and a train to Bochum is often the fastest option.

Once you are in Bochum, the easiest way to reach the University is by taking the U-bahn U35 Campus Line in direction Hustadt; purchase a A3 ticket for this option.

Several restaurants are available throughout the city, we'll let you discover them via the standard means.

Inside the Campus, RUB offers a Mensa service as well as two restaurants and a couple of food trucks. The latter specialize in burgers, while the Rote Bete restaurant proposes a completely vegan menu.

The Conference dinner will be held on Thursday at 19:00 in the Franz Ferdinand restaurant.

Supported participants will likely be booked a room in Hotel Claudius or in Mercure Hotel. Other options in the city centre include the Ibis Zentrum or Ibis Styles. If you wish to be closer to the conference venue, Hotel Schmerkötter is just a short walk away from the RUB.
