YouTube Video Issues
If a student is unable to view a video assigned to them in Youtube, check the following:
- Is the student signed in to youtube.com with their @tvcs.org account
- Is the video "Approved" for viewing by @tvcs.org accounts
1) check to see if you are signed in to www.youtube.com
navigate to: www.youtube.com on your Chromebook
look in the right corner of the screen
if you see "SIGN IN" then click that button and continue to sign in with your @tvcs.org account
seeing this "SIGN IN" button means the student is not currently signed in to www.youtube.com and therefore many videos will be restricted or blocked until the student is logged in with their @tvcs.org account
Once signed in, you will see your Google Profile Image, or letters indicating your are signed in with your @tvcs.org account
If you are signed in but still get this error "Video Unavailable" then the video needs to be Approved by a TVCS Teacher before it will be allowed for viewing
2) VCS Teacher navigates to the link for the video
directly below the video is an "APPROVE" button
teacher will click on the button if they want to approve it for viewing by students.
the teacher can also click "REMOVE" anytime to remove permissions for this video to be viewed
