Year 7-8

Career Education at Years 7 and 8 focuses on students gaining the skills, understandings and experiences that help them to navigate successful career management. When learning about a variety of jobs, students will develop the skills necessary to make connections between their own strengths and interests. Careers Education in Year 7 and 8 is also an opportunity for students to develop career aspirations and the self-belief that future jobs are possible for them.

Students will be encouraged to think about who they are and what is important to them; recognise what they can do well and what they want to learn to do better; develop their ability to relate to and work with others; introduce them to workplaces and people in those workplaces; guide them to set goals and monitor their own progress.
