These are other sources for support that provide advice and guidance. The references below and throughout the Guidance will assist schools, early education settings and post 16 providers to develop and improve their SEND provision.

CDC – the Council for Disabled Children provides a rane of resources to support the implementation of the SEND reforms

NASEN – the National Association for Special Educational Needs – has a SEND Gateway, providing free access to high quality information, resources and training on SEN and disability - www.sendgateway.org.uk 

The NASEN Focus On SEND CPD materials are an online training resource which aims to help teachers and educational practitioners working across the 0 to 25 age range develop high quality SEND practice.

The Dyslexia Specific Learning Difficulties Trust (The Dyslexia-SpLD Trust) and a linked micro-site provides a number of resources to support schools and other education providers, as well as parents - www.thedyslexia-spldtrust.org.uk 

The Downs Syndrome Association has a section on its web-site for professionals covering stages of education from early years to further education - http://www.downs-syndrome.org.uk/for-professionals/ 

NATSIP (the National Sensory Impairment Partnership) provides a range of information to support the learning and development of children and young people with hearing and/or visual impairments from early years to post 16 - www.natsip.org.uk

SCOPE provides a support and information resource for teachers and other professionals as well as promoting and facilitating links between teachers - http://www.scope.org.uk/support/profesionals 

Pdnet - a network for those supporting learners with physical disability, enables the sharing of a range of professional resources to support the learning and education of children with physical disabilities - www.pdnet.org.uk.

Toolkits and resources that can be referred to by professionals when obtaining the views of young people, especially those with limited or non verbal capabilities.

The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman has published its Annual Report and Accounts 2019-20, which details how it continued to be innovative in the way it improved its service and increased the value of its investigations.
