CIS Human Physiology, Biotech & Medical devices

This course will look at the human physiology, diseases, organs, homeostasis, structure and function relationships, and the levels of organization Labs will focus on dissecting, physiology, technology and medical devices. In every class period, students will learn about technologies and/or medical devices associated with the science. For example, during units on the cardiovascular system students will engage in assignments focusing on pacemakers and stents, and how these technologies have affected both medical culture and the health of our wider society. Students looking at a career in the medical fields will benefit greatly from this high school introductory anatomy & physiology course. This course will be taken in sequence with the college biology course.
