Homework Expectations

Homework Expectations

The assignment notebook (planner) is a powerful tool for helping students keep track of

important information, upcoming events, assignments, and due dates. Each student is

expected to bring their planner to classes everyday to enter this information, and parents

are strongly encouraged to check and initial it each night so as to be familiar with topics

that are being covered in classes, etc.

Homework is generally due the next day of class, unless otherwise noted. Homework

handed in beyond the due date will be considered late and given a maximum of half credit

if turned in the next day. After that, zero credit may be given. In addition, late

assignments will be highlighted in yellow in the student’s planner. If a student frequently hands

work in late, a planning conference with the parents, teachers and principal may be

requested in order to help the student get on track.
