Miss. Thornicroft - Head Teacher

I am Head Teacher here at Springside Primary and have been in this position for seven years.

I have been teaching for 26 years. I spent my newly qualified years, in Oldham where I was a Science co-ordinator. I then moved to a school in Rochdale to co-ordinate Science and Assessment. I very quickly became interested in becoming a Senior Leader so I moved to another Rochdale school where I was Deputy Headteacher and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator (SENDCO) for 12 years.

I came to Springside as Headteacher as I was really interested in supporting both children and families to get the best out of their time at this school.

In my spare time I enjoy taking my two nephews out on day trips and I enjoy Zumba classes.

Mr. Connor - Deputy Headteacher

I have been teaching for over a decade and have taught most year groups in school, although most of my experience in in Lower Key Stage 2.

Before joining Springside as Deputy Head I taught in Primary schools in Bolton and Rochdale. My previous role was as a Senior Leader, leading on Curriculum and English amongst other roles, having led nearly every curriculum subject at various points in my career. Outside of school, my main hobbies revolve around music. I have achieved music grades in Piano, Flute and Singing as well as playing guitar and drums in orchestras and rock bands over the years. In school, I have led award-winning choirs and been involved in supporting orchestras and instrumental groups. I also enjoy spending time with my family and our Labrador, Rufus.

Hello! I am Mrs Wynn, the Early Years Lead Teacher, member of the Senior Leadership Team and Special Educational Needs Coordinator. I have worked throughout key stages one and two at Springside Primary School and moved to Early Years in 2012 to set up the new purpose built unit with my colleague Mrs Ashworth.

I have two sons who have both attended Springside Primary School, giving them a great start in their education! I enjoy making the learning environment an exciting and fun place to learn. My hobbies include reading, swimming, baking and dog walking.

Hi, I am Mrs Patterson the Year 5 teacher.

I have worked at Springside for several years but began my teaching career in Bolton where I taught in KS1. During this time, I also achieved my Masters in Education. I now enjoy teaching in KS2.

I love teaching all subjects but especially English and I have been a lead practitioner for Bury LA supporting other schools. I have led English for a number of years but also led other subjects on the Creative Team. I am now looking forward to taking on the role of Pupil Premium lead.

At the moment, I am kept very busy at the weekends with my family and wonderful son!

Hi, I'm Miss Mullineux - the Year 6 teacher.

My favourite subjects are Maths and History.

I am the sports lead at Springside and love to encourage children to take part in physical activities, including the Daily Mile and yoga. I have run the athletics, hockey and dodgeball teams at Springside for a few years. I hope to enter some more competitions this year - when we can! I am also a governor at Springside. In my spare time, I love playing and coaching netball.
