End of the Year Updates 

If your singer needs a choir tshirt and I haven't reached out to you individually, please email Mrs. Oberschlake as soon as possible letting her know what size your student would need. We have a few students needing shirts, but Young's has a minimum order of 6 shirts and we are not currently at 6. The shirts at this minimum number of 6 would be $20 a piece. If we can't get the minimum 6 ordered, I will reach out with other options. 

Rehearsals will continue as normal until our concert with the exception of Thursday, May 16th and Monday, May 20th. These two days will be combined rehearsals for both 5th and 6th graders to attend. As long as your student does not have another morning commitment (band or orchestra) please plan on having your singers attend both of these days before school regardless of grade. If your student is in band or orchestra, Mrs. Oberschlake will talk to their directors about releasing them a little early so they can still practice with the large group. 

Our Lakeview Spring Concert is Monday, May20th at 7:00pm in the Lakeview gym. Please have your singers arrive at 6:45 pm for a quick warm-up and to get in concert order. There will be no choir rehearsals following our choir concert, so please enjoy a few later mornings as the school year comes to a close. 

Finally, on Thursday, May 23rd Lakeview will have an All School Music Assembly where our choir, band, and orchestra students get to perform for the whole student body! No worries if your student is in multiple ensembles as all of our directors work together to make everything run smoothly. I always love seeing how many choir students are involved in many parts of our music program in Stow Munroe Falls! This assembly performance will happen right after morning announcements. As a heads up, if your student is on team 52 they will be on a Soap Box Derby field trip during this performance. Please don't fret, they will still get to perform with the whole choir on Monday, May 20th for our evening Spring Choir Concert.

2023/2024 Rehearsal Schedule 

*6th Grade Choir will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30-8:20 am starting January 29th

*5th Grade Choir will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30-8:15 am starting January 30th

*There is not a registration form to join choir. Students will be dropped off at door number 2 for their scheduled rehearsal days; this is the door facing Graham Road. Please drive around the building using the designated car route to drop off your student. Students will then immediately report to Mrs. Oberschlake's room to check-in and from there they will be signed up for choir.

Concert Dress: 

Choir students will be responsible for purchasing a choir t-shirt to wear at choir concerts. Order forms will be passed out during choir rehearsals. Keep an eye on the website for updates on due dates. Along with the t-shirts, students will be required to wear black bottoms. This could be dress pants or appropriate length skirts.
