1. Introduction

My research areas are Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Strategic Management, Firm Innovation, Financial Institutions and Banking.

My current research topics include Corporate Governance (Boards of Directors, Takeover, Product Market Competition, Hedge Fund activism, Corporate Governance in Emerging Markets), Institutional Investors, Technological Innovation, CSR, and Resource-Based View of Firms. Most of my research papers can be downloaded from this website (https://sites.google.com/site/zhaoshan75/research). You may be want to read them first.

I will be glad to be your advisor if 1) you have a specific research idea/question related to my research area and 2) we are both happy with it.

To come up with a good specific research question, I strongly suggest you to read the slides and follow the Steps here (https://sites.google.com/site/zhaoshan75/mergers/ses1_up_RM.pptx )

However, if you do not have a specific research idea/question, please read related literature to try to find one or talk/email (shan.zhao at grenoble-em.com) to me to get help.

3. Steps to download the full-text of academic papers

1. You can read the slides below

https://sites.google.com/site/zhaoshan75/courses/rm/session2_Literature_up.pptx

2. Use Google Scholar to search the article according to my slides. Google scholar sometimes provides you the link to the PDF version of the paper when it exists. Otherwise, move to next step

3. Use the academic journal database bought by the school (http://library.grenoble-em.com/EXPLOITATION/revues-academiques-en.aspx ). You can search the paper in these databases. The most important databases are

1) JSTOR

Many good journals but with 3-year embargo (which means that you cannot download the latest 3-year articles)

2) Sciencedirect : Journals published by Elsevier publishing company

3) EBSCOhost

Please note that Google scholar provides related links if it exists at JSTOR, Elsevier, and SSRN (read page 27 of my slides).

4. If the steps above fail, click “Resources” at the home page of the library and choose “E-journals”
