A Message from the Scheer Family

Dear Washington High School,

Thank you to the leadership class and student council of Washington High School, for hosting the Jordan Scheer Memorial Children’s Relay for Life. We are of course very proud of the fact that this relay is named after our son Jordan. Jordan was a freshman at Washington High School when he was diagnosed with leukemia in January of 2001. He received chemo treatments, radiation, and a bone marrow transplant over the next four years.

Jordan was a member of student council and the leadership class in high school. On September 7, 2005, while a freshman at St. Louis University, Jordan passed away. That year the leadership class decided to have a children’s relay for life in memory of him.

It's wonderful to see how this event has grown over the years. Each year the students in the area help the American Cancer Society get one step closer to finding a cure for cancer. All together we can make “One Giant Leap for a Cure!” Thank you to all the participants helping to make this another successful relay.

Sincerely,

Jordan Scheer's Family
