Viaduct Trail Ultramarathon

10th annual trail ultramarathon--among the best, most enjoyable events I've participated in. It's my 3rd time going back.

The course is an out-and-back (12.5 miles), each loop making 25 miles, and there are distance options of completing a 50 or 100 mile race. Cut-off times very generous (you could technically speed walk to finish the 50 in time). The course is on a rail trail.

It's a fat-ass, self-supported race. No entry fee. Super low-key total racing family atmosphere. Currently (as of 6/26) the entry spots are full but spots usually open within the month or so before the race as people drop out for various reasons (maybe because they didn't need to pay and don't feel obligated to follow through?).

Also--they LOVE volunteer pacers. People often show up to solely to run a lap or two with others and people have brought bikes to pace people with, too. [Thank God for Ian two years ago accompanying me overnight for miles 76-100].

If you're feeling spicy and want to take on either an ultra this summer or you want to test the waters and pace for a loop or if you just want to camp and hang out this is definitely worth you time.
