Various e-books and scanned copies in Sanskrit, Hindi and English can be downloaded here: http://archive.org/

If you use a proper keyword, you can get lot of rare books here.

Digital Library of India is one of the biggest resource of scanned books in Sanskrit, Hindi and English. However, quality of PDFs is not as good as archive.org. Size of books are also relatively more. Downloading is a bit tricky, you might need to download DLI downloader.

E-Book Readers: If you wish to read many rare pdf books,it is worth to purchase an ebook reader like Kindle Paperwhite as many books are not available in print. It will provide nearly book-like experience to you, much better than using laptops, PCs, tablets and mobiles for serious reading. Only drawbacks are its price and support of black and white colors only.
