PTA Meeting Minutes

Meeting: 6:36pm
We have a laptop with google meet up and running.
Kelly read a recap of last month meeting.
- Updated There will be no 2nd grade banner
- 2nd grade breakfast is the last day if school
Special Speaker from Kiwanis came to talk to is. Toni and Danielle.
It’s an organization to empower people of all ages and abilities to build a better world. The do
wonderful charity work with the veterans, collecting food, pajamas for under privileged as well
as school supplies. They cover the Southern Duchess County. They have local craft fast to
support small businesses where we can drop off donation supplies, they work with Maria
Ferria Children Hospital. They are able to provide service hours for girl/scout boy scout, high
school students. Open to work churches, schools. Membership is $106 a year. It goes from
October – October. We can reach them via Facebook or email

Teacher Appreciation Week- May 6th – 10th. 90’s theme – All teachers loved the theme, and
all loved and appreciated everything we did.
5th Grade –
Day in clay went well.
6th Grade –
John Halloran will come in 5/16 for six grades. It’s powerful assembly regarding his son at 13
omitting suicide. A letter went out to all parents regarding this if they want to opt out their
children.
Art and Ed
Animal Embassy and Nutty Scientist were unfortunately not big hits.
Animal Embassy – Not enough animals
Nutty Scientist – A lot of redirections to the kids
Rock Garden project for Positivity Project
All rocks are out, and the rock garden went well. Give and take a rock.
It was brought up if PTA can help with butterfly garden at Vassar. We are going to look into
this.
Drama Club - Going great. We opened up to 4 – 6 boys and girls
Issue was brought up that the crew was not happy with just coloring. We were going to speak
to the director and then for future have a parent representative.
Breakfast at the schools.
Kinry – May 10- successful
Vassar - May 16 &17 we need tables. Christina will bring some to Jen
Sweet Frog – Fundraiser was May 4th and still waiting on the check for total that was spent.
Principle Report
Mr. Dominick – Sent out a June calendar, everyday there is something. We have our give
back days May.
Kinry – State test, they worked hard. And moving up ceremony if it rains there is a rain date.
Give backs to our School –
Possible playground equipment, Soccer balls, Footballs, jump ropes, stuff we need for recess
play.
Book fair
May 13-17 this week
Kinry Tie Dye Shirts –
Art Project - Was a project from last year. We need to get the size shirts for all the
classes. Ms. Lyons will create a curriculum for it
