Woodwork and boats

Here are my boat related documentation Warning! If left to play with these boats your children may start to exhibit signs of becoming undead pirates.

My most widely read instructible is

A simple canoe plan

It is a really neat way to build a roughly 16 foot canoe from two sheets of plywood with 12 inch high sides that is 32 inches wide at the base - considerably wider than most simple two sheet canoe plans which are normally 24 inches wide or 26 inches wide with 11 inch high sides.

If you want to make a fancy name plate for your boat, door or office here is a set of directions for a real good one

I know occasionally you find you have a bit of plywood left over from that last boatmaking project you had - sometimes because the plan only needed a sheet and a half - sometimes because you stuffed up a bit and had to make that one bit again. Here are some ideas for a leftover half sheet or if you are feeling keen a few ways to make 2 boats out of one sheet of plywood. The Ollie Punt is a great little boat for a young kid to muck about in and the Warnie shouldn't realy be built but it only takes a half sheet of plywood so why not!

A chap named Gavin Atkin made some plans for a handy little boat made out of one sheet of plywood called the Mouse boat Plans for that version can be found here https://www.duckworks.com/product-p/ga-mouse-id.htm

I on the other hand wanted a folding version so here it is:

These plans are donationware, if you build one of these designs or borrow one of these ideas please give to a charity of your choice. I doesn't have to be money, time or even blood will do. If you are going to give blood just make sure you do it in the approved manner, don't just leave a bottle of it on the doorstep. You can even just buy something from a charity shop if you like, such as some old sheets from the salvation army store to make your sails with, or even just buy a meal at a surf lifesaving club. Don't worry I won't check up on you. I am just a guy in Australia I am not the illuminati... or am I..
