Lillie Fellows

Lillie was born to Joel Fellows and Margaret Eastway in 1860. Lillie was born in Olive Township.

Lillie married Frank Amigh Chapel of Allendale Township in 1880.[1]

Lillie and Frank had a son, Frank Sylvester Chapel,[2] on November 4, 1881. They had another son, Phillip Chapel in 1887.

The following picture was taken on the same day as the 1896 Fellows Family Portrait. The picture depicts Frank Chapel (front left), Lillie (Fellows) Chapel (front right) and their sons Phillip Chapel (back left) and Sylvester Chapel (back right) or “Vettie” according to the picture’s label.

Lillie and Frank had their first daughter, Florence Chapel, in 1899. They had a second daughter, Frances, in 1903.

Frank A. Chapel died on February 11, 1922 at his home on 345 Hall Street in Grand Rapids.[3] According to his obituary, Frank was survived by his widow, two sons, Frank S. of Detroit and Phillip S. of Grand Rapids, and two daughters, Florence Rose Chapel and Mrs. Frances Jackson of Grand Rapids. Frank was buried at Fair Plains cemetery in Grand Rapids.

The 1930 census for Detroit shows Lillie (71) living with her daughters Frances Jackson (28), who is listed as single, and Florence Dorgan (32), who is listed as divorced.

Lillie died on June 25, 1942.[4] According to her obituary, Lillie died at the home of her son in Detroit. Lillie was survived by her sons Frank S. chapel of Detroit, and Phillip S. Chapel of Allendale, and one daughter, Florence Hall of Detroit. Lillie was buried at Fair Plains cemetery in Grand Rapids.
