On this page are recent projects, activities and events conducted by the Lake Marion Artisans for the town of Summerton and the local communities around beautiful Lake Marion, SC. All of our projects are funded by sales of our work (artists donate a portion of each sale to our non-profit Art Gallery) and by the generous donations from our community.
Annual Quilt Show & Black History Month
February 2024 - Black History Month: Annual Quilt & Art Show is underway.
Lake Marion Artisans Annual Art Competition
The Lake Marion Artisans Annual Local Art Competition was preparing to get underway in 2020, but then the pandemic hit. Hopefully we'll restart the event in 2024/25.
Summerton Health Fair
Lake Marion artisans plan and coordinate the Summerton Annual Health Fair held each year. Our plan is to always schedule the Summerton Health Fair for the last Saturday in September for the convenience of those who must work Monday through Friday and are unable to attend other public service events.The pandemic forced us to cancel the Health Fair in 2021.
Some 25 organizations were represented, with 40 exhibitors attending the last health fair. This project is made possible not only by the participating organizations, but also by the fine Summerton businesses who contributed financially so that we were able to cover the expenses incurred. Thanks to our many Summerton Partners!!

Lake Marion Artisans - Community Projects
The Lake Marion Artisans has established a free 'Book Exchange' program. Visit the gallery, browse the art on display, and borrow a good book. We are slowly expanding the library in 2024.
The Lake Marion Artisans Gallery has now installed and activated Internet WiFi service for the staff and gallery customers. We have also activated our online gallery where you can buy artwork from some of our local artists at ArtPal.Com
The Lake Marion Artisans traditionally grants an Arts Scholarship to a senior from the local community each year. This Scholarship and/or Summer Internship is available to participants in all types of art, from the visual arts to computer graphics, dance, music, and writing.
The Lake Marion Artisans also donates to the Camp Happy Days and other local initiatives.
