Rouen 24-hours / 24 heures motonautiques de Rouen

Endurance boatrace organized by Rouen Yacht Club since 1964. Since 2009 race takes place yearly the first weekend of May. Befre that it was organized 30 April and 1 May. Start takes place at 16 a clock and winner is the boat, which makes most distance during 24 hours. From 2011 race is 12 hours race. Distance record is from the year 1993, when team consisting of André Larue (FRA), Patrice Kabatski (FRA) and John Castelli (USA) made 3182 km in 24 hours, which is 132,5 km/h including refueling and pilot changes.

Most successful drivers are: Renato Molinari (ITA), Christophe Boyard (FRA) and Jean-Vital Deguisine (FRA).

This event counts as world championship and it attracts about 400000 spectators per year. This is one of the best test event for many engine producers.

Mainly there are three classes of the boats running at the same time. The race venue is around Lacroix island under many bridges. Race direction is not common for circuit races - it is raced clockwise. One lap is 3.6-3.8 km by length.
