Samuel R. Richardson was born 28 February 1833 in Montgomery County, North Carolina, the son of John and Rebecca Richardson. The Richardson family moved from North Carolina to Madison County, Tennessee in the 1840's.

Lucretia Paralee Latham was born 21 February 1837 in Tennessee. She was the daughter of Bailey and Harriet (Brown) Latham. Bailey and Harriet were both from North Carolina, but were married in Bibb County, Alabama 10 December 1833.

Samuel and Lucretia were married in Madison County, Tennessee on 19 November 1855, and appear in the 1860 census 1860 Census: Madison County, Tennessee - District 1.

I have not yet located Samuel and Lucretia in the 1870 census, but several of their relatives appear in Madison County: 1870 Census: Madison County, Tennessee - District 1.

Samuel, Lucretia and several of Lucretia's family members are named in an 1871 deed in Madison County, Tennessee Deed Book 29 (pages 2-3): James M. Latham, John W. Latham, Joseph D. Latham relinquished to Samuel Richardson their interest in land of Balie (Bailey) Latham, deceased, except their reversionary interest in the widow's dower, "which includes one half the undivided interest of the said James M. Latham to the said land of Balie Latham except the interest in the dower, which the said James M. Latham accepts and relinquishes to the said Samuel Richardson and wife Lucretia P." No execution date. Registered April 27, 1871. Witnesses W. A, Dismukes, W. C. Marshall

Lucretia died 27 January 1902. Samuel died 14 November 1916.
