On 15 May 2009 TL7A was visiting the Central African Republic and while using his ham radio station he was heard in Sydney, Australia to say that his antenna was directed towards the USA.
His radio signal had travelled across both the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean.
He was talking with American, Australian and African ham radio stations on the 15 May 2009 on 18.160 MHz USB at 2130 UTC signal strength 3.

Amateur Radio Administration Course 2006.
The Amateur Radio Administration Course ARAC was held from 24 – 27 June 2006 in Dakar, Senegal.
This course has been held two times each year for the last 20 years.
The International Amateur Radio Union (IARU Region 1) provides instructors and course material.
The IARU also provides return tickets and accommodation for instructors.
The United Nations International Telecommunications Union provides return tickets and accommodation for all candidates.
The Host country representative Ecole Supérieure des Télécommunications ESMT Senegal provided training facility and local support including local transportation from and to the hotels, all customs and clearance of equipment and support for the course including video projector, computer, internet connection and classrooms.
The aim was to train regulators and future regulators on administration of the amateur service and the amateur-satellite service in developing countries and train in the managing of disaster relief communications and organization of an amateur radio society.
The people who attended came from Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo.
