      • Tap on the group you wish to amend then

        • Press Add contacts to see a list of all contacts available to add to the group. Tick the ones you want to add then press Do it.

        • OR

        • Press the check box for any contacts you wish to delete then press Del. contacts to delete them.

        • Tap any contact to view its details. You can also do Menu/Edit to amend it.

      • De-select all and Select all buttons may help if you have a large number of contacts to add or delete.

  • Why can't I update Starred in Android or other system groups?

You can update Starred in Android by tapping on a contact. When you press the star it toggles the contact as a favorite.

System groups are generated by Google so it is best not to amend them.

  • I don't have a Google account - how do I create one?

You can do this here: https://www.google.com/accounts/NewAccount

Then you need to log into it from your phone - on most Android phones you can do this in the Contacts application then press Menu, Accounts, Add Account.

Make sure you have turned on synchronization of your account and soon all your account groups and contacts will show up on the phone. When you amend them on the phone they will get copied back to Google so you can use them on other phones, in Google Mail etc., etc..

  • Why can't I add or amend my contacts in GroupManager?

To edit a contact simply tap on it then do Menu/Edit.

  • Why haven't my new group (or its changes) been synced?

Sometime you have to wait a bit for the changes to show up.

Also check your account sync options. Do:

      • Menu/Contacts.

      • Select the Contacts tab.

      • Do Menu/Display options - make sure your groups are marked for display

Also check Menu/Settings/Accounts & Sync then tap on your account to see that syncing is on.

Note: your phone may have a different way of displaying contacts (and options), especially Samsung.

  • Why do you only support groups on Google accounts?

Because they are (not surprisingly) the ones that Android (a Google product) support properly.

Other types such as Facebook and Twitter don't have the same concept of groups.

  • Why can't I add groups to any one of my Google accounts?

This is only available in the pay version of GroupManager

  • Why do my changes take so long to be synced?

If you add (or delete) a very large (hundreds) of contacts from a group it can take minutes or much longer) to synchronize with Google. You may even see "The application Google Services Framework has stopped..." on your phone. This is a bug in Android not GroupManager but do not worry eventually your contact/group changes will be synced (more quickly if you do not force close Google Services framework).
