RC Cola Buttons

These "funny" advertising buttons were issued by the Royal Crown (RC) Cola company and are associated with their "mad mad taste" advertising campaign in the sixties. These are 1 1/2 inches in diameter and are marked along the rim with "Royal Crown Cola With The Mad Mad Taste.". As with the Slurpee buttons, I don't have a lot of information on these. They looked similar and looked like they would be fun to chase down. As always, any information on these buttons would be appreciated. A few tidbits of information from Wikipedia:

    • Nancy Sinatra was featured in two Royal Crown Cola commercials in her one hour special called "Movin' with Nancy" featuring various singers in November 1967. She sang "it's a mad, mad, mad Cola... RC the one with the mad, mad taste!...RC! " You can watch this commercial here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbkoeJ7BVsI. This special is even available on DVD!

    • Royal Crown was the official sponsor of New York Mets off and on at times during the 1960s, 70s and 80s. A television commercial in the New York area featured Tom Seaver, New York Mets pitcher, and his wife, Nancy, dancing on top of a dugout at Shea Stadium and singing about RC Cola... "the mad, mad, mad, mad Cola! RC, the one with the mad, mad taste! RC, RC, RC, RC...."

    • The official slogan in 1967 was "Escape - Come on over to RC Cola the one with the mad, mad taste."
