In 2004, tennis players Paul Fleming and Richard Bradley, cycled 950 miles from John O'Groats to Lands End in 10 days and a couple of hours. It was called 'The Little Big journey' because, being unsupported, they were a little party, cycling on a big journey. Covering almost 100 miles a day, it proved both physically demanding and wonderfully exhilarating, and in the process they discovered how generous people can be. There was the family donating their change in a Scottish service station, a waitress donating her day's tips in the Station Tearooms in Crediton and Brookhays Farm, Cossington refusing to accept payment for their bed & breakfast. We must mention as well, the wonderful breakfast barbecue in Much Wenlock that raised both £400 and our spirits after a hard first 6 days. Our thanks go to all these generous and spontaneuos people and everyone else who donated money and time to make this ride possible and raise the grand total of £5,000 for the MS Trust.
