Charles Mills Sheldon was an American journalist and illustrator who reported on many wars, including the Second Anglo-Boer War. (Source: Roth and Olson, Historical Dictionary of War Journalism)

An example of Charles' illustrations of the Boer War can be seen in Michael Barthorp's 2002 work Slogging Over Africa: The Boer Wars 1815-1902, pg.122. Musgrave's 1900 book In South Africa with Buller lists an illustration by Charles Sheldon, from a photograph, "The aftermath of Pieter's Hill", as appearing on pg.331; however, the illustration seems to have been left out of the book.
