This detector is higher priced than the non functional ones actually sell for. If you don't care if one works, watch ebay. However, most the mine detectors listed on ebay are asking for hundreds of dollars, while the ones that actually sell are in the $100 range. A risk of buying one online that isn't working, is that parts could be stripped out or damaged, to the extent it will never work.

Mine detector selling prices have dropped on ebay, but most of them listed are usually way overpriced. Watch the shipping price, too. They are not a hot item as they once were, and I will not be buying or selling any more.
Ebay has really screwed up the collectibles market, by not charging a listing fee. People listing items for sale have nothing to lose by asking ten times what something is really worth. Many sellers ask $500 or more for mine detectors worth less than $100. I sold two AN/PRS-3 mine detectors on ebay, One for $26, the other for $2.75 - yes, two dollars and seventy five cents. This is what has actually sold recently.
