CLIL 2010/11

The subject of the 2010/2011 CLIL class is "Sistemi Elettronici Automatici". In particular, the CLIL class investigates how ANSI C programs can be used to analyze/solve two main topics of the Sistemi course:

    1. the solution of LTI Systems with finite difference method and with Laplace method;
    2. the analysis and simulation of finite state machines.

An original text has been prepared regarding the two main topics of the course, as in the previous year. With respect to the previous year, the text contains more active links to in-depth materials that can be directly accessed in the web. Additionally, each Chapter of the text is closed with a 'questions and exercises' Section, to stimulate students self-study and to explain some new concepts in a more practical way.

Since the course content developed in the text is quite challenging to students, we have tried to lighten the burden with warm-up activities, linguistic games and with a laboratory exercise where the students, organized in groups, could speak English among themselves and with the teachers to solve the assigned tasks.

At the end of the course, a final test was done to assess students content understanding. An anonymous feedback form was filled in too, to understand how the students perceived the course.

Despite the clear difficulty of the course, a few students obtained an excellent test score. The majority of the students appreciated the group activities, both linguistic games and the laboratory experience, where the interactions among students and teachers were more effective.

Here's the complete set of documents prepared for the course. You can find:
