a. OSD board and firmware

remzibiOSD as hardware set looks like that (picture by FPV4EVER ) :

On small PCB is possible to build a current sensor described here a. Current sensors

It can be also used as Power board , spreading power from T or XT60 battery connector to other parts as camera , VTX and OSD .

Single cable can be used to any purpose , like RSSI connection or connection for current sensor , if not useful at the moment it can wait in to drawer for time when it will be helpful for any purpose .

There are also on sale DIYdrones version authorized by me , this device is made on Atmega32 bigger chip.

Lastly a lot various remzibiOSD are available on ebay and some internet China's shops - they are white PCB or similar looking green boards, some in plastic cases .

Those are China copy of mine design , I do not support them and I am not responsible for any problems, malfunctions and services.

Those copy sales against licence terms , as I do NOT agree to manufacture and sale them.

Those copy sellers do NOT support me or my work at all .

The main reason why anything is copied - is that ORIGINAL IS GOOD.

Everybody knows China and their copy talents - so conclusions are Yours .

Software of OSD are 3 files

- firmware , it is the main program of OSD placed in micro controller flash memory

- EEPROM (BIN) file holding all temporary data like screen layout configuration, Video system, ADC calibrations, Personal Logo etc.

- Font file, the table of fonts and icons(pictures) used to display on-screen text and pictures (default 1_61_font.mcm)

Hardware connection for stand alone device must be as described here b. Connections

Below is latest firmware wrote by me for regular stand alone remzibiOSD unit .

Also default EEPROM (BIN) for PAL file and funny F16 style layout

and default font table .

There are also firmware version allow to OFF or ON OSD information on screen during flight .

Works exactly as regular firmware but ADC5 alarm is also a trigger for OSD on-off layout (that way named as "of" )- so we can use ADC5 and scale it and use ADC5's alarm trigger as an ON/OFF switch for OSD show on screen or not .

IMPORTANT - if you do NOT use ADC5 as ON/OFF then use regular firmware - or connect ADC5 to GND ,elswhere random ON-OFF OSD layout can be encountered .

Some more details about ON/OFF here:

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showpost.php?p=17620184&postcount=3110

If add at ADC5 input capacitor to GND for example 1uF (you can use small SMD 0603 size) and about 100kohm resistor serial at input pin - then is lowpass filter, so if connect directly RC channel possible to measure overall voltage at ADC5 - this is useful to scale ADC5 alarm to trigger OSD layout on or of. Unfortunate for now is possible to turn off all OSD information or turn it on . No possible to manage individual information - this must be done at PC GUI program .

It is also possible to change/update the firmware of OSD at any time , unpacked firmware file must be copied to Remzibi\HEX Files catalog .

The movie below show how to program firmware into OSD http://vimeo.com/4698755

And in next movie how to program BIN file (EEPROM) and Font File (Fonts table) http://vimeo.com/4698755
