About me

Raúl Mazo is Professor at the ENSTA Bretagne (Brest-France) and visiting Professor at the Eafit University (Medellin-Colombia). He is researcher with the Lab-STICC (Laboratoire des Sciences et Techniques de l'Information, de la Communication et de la Connaissance) and the GIDITIC (Grupo de Investigación: Desarrollo e Innovación en Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones).

His research and teaching topics are around (i) the industrialisation of software production and (ii) the application of of artificial intelligence, optimisation (by exact and approximate methods), software engineering and control techniques to improve the design, simulation and implementation of cyber-physical, self-adaptive and software-intensive systems.

The research program developed by Raúl Mazo is fruitful and promising. It has attained great confidence and credibility (which explains the trust of important French, Mediterranean, Latin-American and European programs, such as ANR, PHC UTIQUE, Colciencias, H2020 and ITEA, to finance his works). His research results constitute a collection of more than 100 scientific contributions characterised by its innovative attractiveness, the rigor of the solutions , the performance of the software developed to support the proposed approaches (he is the leader of the VariaMos software tool) and the broadness of his research activities.

Since 2015, Dr. Mazo has been an expert of the French Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to evaluate industrial projects (Expert agréé CIR pour l'évaluation de projets auprès du Ministère de l'Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche).
