Stormwater Monitoring and Assessment Strategy

The strategy for a Stormwater Assessment and Monitoring Program for Puget Sound (SWAMPPS) was developed over a two+ year process and adopted by the Stormwater Work Group in 2010. The 2010 SWAMPPS Strategy identifies objectives for monitoring stormwater and proposes an approach to provide needed information about stormwater impacts and the effectiveness of stormwater management actions and share results in a way that helps the region make better decisions.

The 2010 Strategy provides the scientific framework for future monitoring and assessment activities and describes an implementation plan for conducting the activities in a coordinated, efficient manner and with standardized methods.

The Stormwater Work Group continues to implement the key recommendations in the strategy and to adapt the strategy in response to findings, opportunities, and funding.
