Washington State Marriage Requirement

In Washington state Marriage Licenses are applied for at the county-level, usually at the county auditor’s office. Here is a link to the different county websites in Washington State.

A blood test or physical exam is not required in Washington State. There is a fee for the marriage license and in most cases the license is valid for 60 days. There is a 3 day waiting period before the marriage can take place. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have picture id. An applicant who is at least 17 years old may still apply, but must have parental consent.
