Academic Policies & Practices Committee (APPC)

-- A Standing Committee of the Faculty Senate -- 

This is an elected committee. Elections are conducted in the Spring. 

As per the bylaws the Academic Policies and Practices Committee (APPC)is responsible to:

a.     Conduct a continuing review of all phases of current academic policy and practice to ensure that they are consistent with the guidelines and standards established by the Board of Trustees and appropriate accreditation bodies.

b.     Recommend changes in academic policies and practices to the Faculty Senate for action.

c.     Coordinate hearings regarding students' academic standing.

Academic standing hearings are contacted three times a year, January, June and August. Regular monthly meetings take place during common hour. Every effort is taken to accommodate members schedule. Usually, a monthly meeting is enough to discuss issues brought to committee’s attention. Additional meetings, if needed, are schedule at times convenient to all committee members.
