Graduate Students:  If you are interested in joining our lab, please apply to the CEE department and indicate your interest in working my lab on your applicationWhen positions become available, I look first at the list of admitted students before recruiting elsewhere.  Read more about the Rutgers Civil and Environmental Engineering Department's Environmental and Water Resources program here.  Learn more about what is needed in your application for graduate studies here.

My apologies, the volume of emails from the many excellent prospective graduate students is untenable at several points during the academic year.  I do see all applications that are submitted to RU, but cannot always reply to all email inquiries.

If your background is in applied microbiology, consider applying to one of the microbiology programs that I am on the graduate faculty of and listing your interest in my lab on your application.  Learn more about Biochemistry and Microbiology here and Molecular biosciences here.

Postdoctoral scholars:  When the lab has funding for postdoctoral scholars I will place an advertisement on the AEESP jobs page to recruit appropriately qualified candidates.

Motivated Rutgers undergraduates are encouraged to look for research training opportunities in our lab through the Aresty program.  We have also hosted several Douglass Project students. Occasionally independent study opportunities are available for Rutgers Civil & Environmental Engineering undergraduates with strong academic records and a demonstrated interest in pursuing careers in environmental engineering and students in the process of transferring in.

Pre-college students interested in educational and research opportunities are encouraged to look at the RU Summer Scholars, Governor's School, and a variety of research programs compiled here: https://aresty.rutgers.edu/resources/other-programs/research-programs-rutgers-research-for-high-school-students  At this time my lab is not taking pre-college students.  We have worked to share our work with pre-college students through our outreach activities including by hosting math and science teachers.
