Deep inelastic (anti)neutrino-Deuterium scattering.

(BEBC experiment WA25, Nikhef Amsterdam/CERN Geneva 1983-1987).

In this experiment, carried out with the BEBC bubble chamber at the CERN-SPS accelerator

complex, the main goal was to determine the left and right chiral coupling constants of

the u and d quarks. To achieve this, (anti)neutrinos were scattered on a deuterium target.

The use of alternatively neutrino and anti-neutrino beams guaranteed a certain helicity

of the incoming projectiles, whereas the deuterium target provided interactions on

either protons or neutrons. This allowed the determination of the chiral coupling

strength of both u and d quarks separately.

This research was the subject of my PhD thesis.
