Biography

Just before the end of the Universal War, Liu Kang was appointed as the new Protector of Earthrealm, succeeding the Thunder God, Raiden. For almost a year, Liu Kang foresaw the realm's rebuilding process from the Heavens. It was during this time that there was relative peace. Then, the Mishima Zaibatsu declared war.

At first, Liu Kang stayed out of the conflict, at least until a young woman named Zafina visited his tomb in China. She warned him that the war would eventually plunge into darkness if not stopped. Now aware of the danger, Liu Kang knew that the war must be stopped. Under the guidance of the Elder God, Fujin, Liu Kang sets off to gather the chosen ones to stop the latest threat to Earth.
