STATUS
The Marine Science Association, Myanmar, (MSAM) is registered (non-profit local NGO) composed of marine scientists founded in 2008 in Myanmar.
VISSION
Sustainability of natural resources through systematic management approach by concerned stakeholders collaboratively to mitigate the impact in the future climate changes scenario.
Marine and coastal environment conservation and sustainable use of marine living resources will support effectively to sustainable development, reduction of climate change and poverty alleviation.
MISSION
The Marine Science Association, Myanmar, shall take part in conservation and sustainable development of marine and coastal area of Myanmar with its concerted effort.
OBJECTIVES
To take part in the sustainable development activities of Myanmar with marine science expertise.
To conduct marine and coastal research, conservation and development.
To raise awareness of marine environment and marine science.
To enhance friendship among the alumni of marine science.
In collaboration and cooperation with Marine Science Department at Mawlamyine, Pathein, Myeik and Sittwe Universities and marine science alumni, MSAM has been taking part in research, conservation and sustainable development of marine and coastal area of Myanmar.
