The Mountain View Police Department active service patch was designed December 10, 2011 by Patrolman Jason W. McDaniel while serving on active duty with the United States Army in the Kunar province of Afghanistan. The proposed departmental uniform patch was reviewed and adopted by Chief of Police Jamie A. Perkins on August 1, 2013 as the new uniform patch for the Mountain View Police Department. The uniform patch measures 3” x 3 ¾”. The outer edges and center edges are olive drab in color.

The background of the patch is black and tan corresponding with the department uniform enabling a professional appearance. The outer lettering top and bottom is white with aharoni font face. The outer lettering is separated with a white bullet centered left and right. The center lettering top and bottom is black with aharoni font face. The center seal displays the United States flag along with the bald eagle which signifies liberty for all and the remembrance of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
