"I actually took the time today to look through the fighters and how you rank 'em, by far a better ranking system than I have come across. I am a passionate fan though...llol.
What seperates your ratings from others is the way big names and veterans can drop right off the list. MMA Rankings is a list of where fighters are at this moment and not a list of big names who are ranked by the summation of their careers, which is what we are seeing in the UFC venues lately. Fighters are allowed to pick and choose their fights and worry about pay-per-view #'s rather than fighting the best out there. Chris Weidman and Silva for instance, no money in it right now so it won't happen. Your ratings bring integrity back to a sport with little left. When a champ chooses who he fights instead of a number 1 contender type scenario, it leaves a guy to wonder if the champ is the best."

I really like your rankings as I mentioned on your LW Rankings Thread. I am pissed at Fight Matrix because their Site has very extensive and up to the day Rankings but are so flawed.
Like you I also think the UFC LW's for example are a deep division with excellent fighters but nearly all are up and coming whereas the LW's outside the UFC are more established and many of them have actually beaten top ten competition unlike the UFC LW's. Consequently other than BJ how can you possibly have any other UFC LW in the top ten in that weight class?! Fight Matrix did this very same thing with Swick at WW putting him in at 7! Don't get me wrong both Kenny and Swick are excellent up and coming fighters but neither have done anything to warrant a top ten ranking. Your Rankings take in consideration the actual results of the matches and who you actually beat (top ten foe or not) and if their is a fluke involved that is factored in like Kenny's win over Din who freakishly from his own doing blew out his knee making that value win by Kenny less, but not in Fight Matrix's eyes.
The biggest problem is Fight Matrix have received so much input from Whistleblower, Smac, you and me and they will not listen. Many of the points you made the other day others and myself have made on other Threads to no avail. Oleg stated himself he is very stubborn which is frustrating because they could have the best Rankings Site on the Net if they listened and made the necessary adjustments.

Btw, props to you on your old-school knowledge.
It's nice to discuss the sport with someone who actually knows WTF they're talking about and can offer insights that date back to pre-Zuffa (or even pre-"MMA") days.
This has become increasingly rare since the sport took off with TUF a couple of years ago, and the forums have been flooded with noobs who think that anything that happened before Zuffa or outside the UFC is irrelevant.

I have another friend that owns http://www.themmanews.com but the site I was talking about was actually http://www.mmaoutsider.com which is going to be launched basically this week. The two guys know each other, and so I think that MMAOutsider will grow fast, and I talked to the owner of TheMMANews, and he's gonna use the rankings on MMAOutsider on his site, either as a weekly post, or a static page. On MMAOutsider it's gonna be on a static page with a really nice link. The site is slowly coming together, and you can check it out. Women's rankings are great, and I hope this sounds good for you, as it makes it easier for him. If you're cool with all this, I'll give him your email so he can contact you directly.
