About the Rankings

This is a fair and unbiased system to rank fighters. Every fighter is ranked according to their accomplishments - who they beat, how they win, recent activity (last 3 years is most significant), and are placed in their position of rank as they beat the fighters ranked/listed above them...or, they move up because the fighters above them are moved down due to: inactivity, moved to another weight class or, because they lost to an unranked/unlisted fighter.

If a fighter, who's listed under the TOP TEN, loses to an unlisted fighter it's possible for him to be removed from the list.

You would have to research each fighter's record to understand why they are where they are.

We do the best we can but it's not always going to be perfect. But we always try to put guys above guys they' beat...though it might seem like they aren't...it depends on who they've beat within the past 3 years...and how well they're doing now (recent win/loss ratio).

No one "comes up with them"...this is a linear record of who's beat-who, for the past 16 years we've been doing this.

About the Linear Titles

The linear title is decided upon, usually, when the #1 & #2 contenders fight...though not just any contenders, they should be the cream of the crop in their respective weight class. When i first started i made some of the 1st champions based on their records and titles already held, such as, the Shooto champions, at the lighter weights, and/or, where it was harder to decide - based on the top 2 contenders.

About the Weight Classes

Note: The term, "Catchweight" is just what promotions use when two fighters agree to fight at a certain weight when one of them (or both) cannot make the intended / official weight.
