New Carburetor

New carb from EC Distributing (http://www.eccarburetors.com/store/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=1550). Bolt on replacement for the crazy non-adjustable lean stock one. Had quite a bit of fabrication and mods to do though. Throttle hookup was on the other side. There was no choke (but holes there plugged up).

I took the choke shaft from the old carb and made a new butterfly to fit the new barrels.

I had to grind a few bits of the plastic intake manifold off to clear the throttle.

New throttle linkage (stainless tab bolted to bottom of cylinder block). Re-using the little rotator to decrease the 3" travel of the throttle push-pull cable.

Seems to run much better. Idle is possible and I can set it to 1200 and adjust the mixture down there with the two gas idle mix screws.

For reference here's a picture of the original carb with the governor removed and a direct link from the morse cable to to the throttle. You can also see the old cable clamp used for the choke cable. The anti-diesel valve was still on the carb but disconnected and disabled (I snipped the pushrod from it to the bottom of the float inlet).
