Presently we can offer 29 variants of the electrode location for using micropolarization in the correction of different pathological states of the CNS . 19 of them are for the transcranial micropolarization (TCMP), 5 for transvertebral micropolarization (TVMP), 5 for the simultaneous (combined) application of the transcranial and transvertebral micropolarization (TCMP+TVMP) (for example, Fig. 1, 2). When prescribing a course of micropolarization and determining all the parameters, we recommend to follow the algorithm.

During the transcranial micropolarization, preliminary wetted with water or physiologic saline electrodes are placed on the chosen cortical projection areas. After the electrodes have been located, the procedure begins with a smooth increase if the current strength up to becoming of a slight pricking or burning under the electrodes. After it the current strength is decreased smoothly till the unpleasant sensations completely disappear. The parameters of the operative direct current can vary from 50 to 700 μA. The duration of a treatment is 20-40 min. The course consists of 10-15 treatments every day or in a day. The repeated courses of transcranial micropolarization can be prescribed in 2-4 months.
