Severus Alexander

Note: My site (Site Map) mainly has information concerning Elagabalus (page), focusing on his coins from Markianopolis (Marcianopolis). However, branching out a bit, I have started listing some of the other rulers who have coins from Markianopolis (page)

Severus Alexander, Elagabalus' cousin (family tree) who ruled after him. Reigned 13 March 222 - 18 March 235. Grandson of Septimius Severus's sister-in-law, cousin and adoptive heir of Elagabalus. Died 18 March 235 AD, Murdered by the army

Written in my notes I list the date minted of coins minted by Legate Tiberius Julius Festus as 225-229 as based on Legate, however in further research I don't see any reference to dates other than that Legate Julius Gaetulicus might be near the beginning and that "KAI in the obv.legend occurs only under Tereventinus and Philopappus. May be that Philopappus was the successor of Tereventinus?". Part of Pick's notes in AMNG I. From this, these dates 225-229 might be possible for Legate Festus, but I don't know where the end date came from. Page with lists of Roman Legates in Moesia Inferior.
